Fashion | IDF Week Recap

International Dubai Fashion Week brought out the glam in glamorous hosted by the ultra luxurious, drenched in fabulousness Palazzo Versace Hotel. Let me first say that my next home will be fully decorated in Versace! Omg! The pillows, the walls, floor tiles, carpet, furniture, chandeliers, everything freaking thing in there belongs in my next home. Period.

Ok, I digress, now let’s get to the fashion!

House of Hend πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘

This couture collection earned five out of seven crowns. I love the color scheme and modest lace designs in the pieces. It reminds me of a modernized Cher from Clueless look. I could also definitely see a First Lady such as Michelle Obama or Jackie Kennedy wear these elegant pieces such as the white gown with jewel collar. Each piece looked elegant and comfortable.

Mursak πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘

This middle eastern inspired collection earned four out of seven crowns. Not really my cup of tea with the looks, but I give much respect to the craftsmanship and embroidery on each piece. Secondly, I’m totally inspired by the printed robes as they could add spice to any garment. My designer creative juices are overflowing with this collection!

Emmanuel Haute Couture πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘πŸ‘‘

This gorgeous collections earned six out of seven Edgy Opulence crowns! The beautifully crafted designer dresses have the look of gowns worn at an elegant ball located in the underwater oasis of Atlantis. Some of the dresses had seashell and starfish embellishments sewn into glittery chiffon, just beautiful!

Another portion of the show displayed the University of Sharjah’s fashion students collections. Although each collection showed the future talent of the fashion industry, there was one particular collection that caught my eye, the YQ 2K 18. This young diva had a quirky collection with an Andy Warhol feel mixed with comic. I completely dug it.

And that about sums it up. Stay tuned for the next season of Arab Fashion Week Season 6 coming up soon. Until the next time…
